About Me:
My name is Crystal Kauffman (Pen name: Imogen Rayne). I am a Freelance Copywriter, Published Author and Poet, and Songwriter with eight years of experience. In addition, I am the Founder of the Laugh at Cancer Organization Inc., which is a non-profit organization. My mission is to help families facing cancer touch in anyway and create a Global of community for those, who have been touched by cancer…directly and indirectly!
You can find out a little more about me and LACO, by visiting my website listed in my signature. In my personal life, I am blessed three beautiful children and a handsome stepson. My hubby and I have been married two years, but we dated nine years. Thankfully, I am celebrating my sixth year anniversary of being a cancer survivor. The aggressive treatment left me disabled and struggling with health issues, which has made it even harder for me to find gainful employment.
Eight years ago, I was a high school drop out, but I wanted to earn an education. Since then, I worked hard to succeed in high school adult program, because I wanted to change my life. Additionally, I completed two freelance writing programs and I have earned my Associate Degree in Business Arts. Now, I am pursuing a Bachelor’s in Communications, which will allow me to pursue my professional career goals.
When I created this organization five years ago, I never realized how many families were hurting and need of hope and encouragement to handle cancer’s touch. Currently, I have over 500+ articles, which has been published on the internet so far. I have begun writing two novels, which are about finished. Personally, I love to dabble in every kind of writing, so I wear many types of caps in my life. However, my true passion is helping others.
My treatment taught me many things, but the most important is that life is precious and worth living! On November 25, 2008, my organization became official and I am looking forward to making a difference in the lives of those touched by cancer. Additionally, I have created two projects called Day of Hope and Wings on Hope that seem to be successful so far. Each project is designed to restore hope in families, no matter what someone is facing.
I am proud to say, I am the only high school and college graduate in my family. Maybe my courage and achievements will rub off on my ancestors. One day, I hope to influence the others around me and provide more help to families touched by cancer.
